Seed’s reps have a lot of variables to juggle. Multiple investors, each of whom had 1-50 languages invested in; The progress of each language; How long it has been since an investor has received an update. We added Automatic Delivery to the dashboard, so representatives have one less thing to worry about and ensure that reports get sent more often. We set the frequency to send reports at the end of each quarter. This way, investors can see the progress as it develops instead of all at once.
To help reps manage their caseload, we created multiple methods to drill down into an investor to get a glimpse at crucial information. We laid out a high-level view of all investors in a rep’s caseload. Here, we included relevant information, such as the investor’s delivery method and a progress bar indicating the progress of the investor’s report. This view lets the reps quickly see which investor reports are close to being finished and which have a long way to go.
Since different sections in the report are more important than others, and because investors invest in a different number of languages, we opted for a fraction to show how many sections are complete and how many are left.
Designing the report posed a unique challenge. Traditionally, Seed’s reports were shared as PDFs or printed and delivered. With the new system, Seed wanted to prioritize a webpage format for viewing reports but still maintain the option to download and print them. As anyone who’s tried to print a webpage knows, the results can often be less than ideal.
To address this, we designed the report with a 1440p width and letter aspect ratio, allowing it to work well in print. Stacking the pages vertically mimicked a PDF layout, but to enhance the web experience, we used color blocking on certain pages to break up the uniform look. This approach ensured the design functioned smoothly as both a PDF and a web-based report.
Our developers further optimized the design by eliminating unnecessary empty space in the web version, ensuring a clean, responsive layout. They also enabled PDF generation at 1440p, ensuring the reports stayed responsive without sacrificing print quality or PDF formatting.
Our partnership with Seed produced a tool for representatives that will help enable more consistent and effortless communication with investors.
